Trinchieri Alberto

Dr. Alberto Trinchieri is Adjunct Professor of the Urology School at the University of Milan in Milan, Italy. He obtained an MD degree from the University of Milan in 1978. He subsequently completed his Urology residency in 1981 at the University of Milan and Nephrology residency in 1985 at the University of Milan. He took his first position in the Department of Urology at the Maggiore Hospital of Milan in 1985, where he served from 1985 to 2003. Dr. Trinchieri moved to Lecco Hospital in 2003 where he directed the Urology Unit until 2018. He is currently a consultant of private clinics in Milan.

He has dedicated his career to the care of patients afflicted with renal stone disease including medical and surgical management and clinical, translational and basic science research. He has served as a member of the Board of the Section of Urolithiasis of the European Association of Urology (EULIS) from 2010 to 2018 and is currently serving as a member of the Board of the International Society of Urolithiasis from 2008. Dr.Trinchieri was co-chairman of the EULIS congress in 1999 (Parma), chairman of the EULIS congress in 2009 (Lake Como) and co-chairman of the EULIS congress in Milan (2019). He is vice-Chairman and Scientific Director of the U-merge association and member of the SEGUR association. He is Editor in Chief of Archives of Italian Urology and Andrology (AIUA) and he is on the editorial board of the journal Urolithiasis. Dr.Trinchieri has published 193 peer-reviewed papers (PubMed) and delivered a number of international, national, and regional invited lectures. His research interests include medical and surgical treatment of kidney stone disease, dietary and medical therapies for kidney stone prevention, minimally invasive surgical treatments, and genitourinary infections.
