Mitsogiannis Iraklis

Professor of Urology National and Kapodistrian University of Athens

Professor Mitsogiannis graduated from the Athens University Medical School in 1989 and was accredited as Urological Surgeon in 1998. He then continued his training in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield, England, having a broad exposure to both General Urology and also various aspects of Functional Urology, including surgical reconstruction of the lower urinary tract, Female Urology and Urodynamics/Videourodynamics. From 1999-2001 he worked as s Specialist at the 1st Dept of Urology, University of Athens, Laikon Hospital. He was accredited as Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU) in 1999. From 2001-2013 he worked as Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Dept of Urology, University of Thessaly (2001-2007) and at 2nd Dept of Urology, University of Athens (2007-2013). Since 2013, he has been working in National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Medical School as Lecturer (2011-2015), Assistant Professor (2015-2019), Associate Professor (2019-2023) and Full Professor (2023-today). He is the Scientific Head of the Neurourology-Urodynamics Department at the 2nd Dept of Urology at Sismanoglio Hospital.

Professor Mitsogiannis has participated in several national and international research protocols and has given lectures as an invited Speaker in various Congresses and Courses. His teaching practice includes training of Medical Students, and Residents in Urology and also participation in post-graduate medical courses as a Tutor. He has authored various scientific publications and audits and has been the author in 3 Greek urological books. He is Active Member of the European Association of Urology and currently is elected member of the Scientific Board of the Hellenic Urological Association.

Professor Mitsogiannis is an active Urological Surgeon in Sismanoglio Hospital of Athens dealing with Functional Urology, Endourology and Urological Oncology cases.
