Dimitrios Staios was born in Florina in 1971. He was admitted to the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki from where he graduated in 1996 with a very good grade.
He served his military service at the 424 General Military Hospital as an Officer Doctor and did his Rural Doctor service at the Regional Clinic of Nymfaio (Florina).
He was trained in General Surgery at the General Prefectural Hospital of Florina for 1 year and as assistant at the Urology Clinic of the Hospital for 10 months. He continued his specialization in Urology for another 4 years at the Second University Urology Clinic of Athens at Sismanoglio General Hospital. He received the title of specialty in Urology in 2006.
He was trained in the subspecialty of Endourology (Fellow of Endourology of the Endourological Society) at St. Bartholomew's Hospital, Barts and The Royal London Trust, London, UK where he received the title of Endourologist in 2007.
He is a regular member of the Hellenic Association of Urology (HUA)and the Secretary General of the Department of Urogenital oncology of HUA . He is also a member of the World Endourological Society.
In 2013, Dr. Dimitrios Staios received his PhD from the Medical School of the University of Athens with honors.
He has performed hundreds of specialized Endourological procedures (Percutaneous Nephrolithotripsy PCNL and ECRIS, Flexible Ureteroscopies RIRS, Rigid ureteroscopies, Transurethral prostate surgeries TURIS and Green Light Laser Prostatectomies), as well as Laparoscopic/Robotic Urology, Prosthetic Urology and General/Classical Urology.
He in currently in private practice in Athens, Greece.
